From the house of Quantum come this series of spinning reels called the Quantum Catalyst PTsB Spinning Reel Series. This series of inshore spinning reels reflects the newest technologies all packed into a high quality inshore saltwater spinning reel.
It features the Thin Line aluminium side plate and body. Now 17% lighter, each of these spinning reels in this Catalyst PTsB series uses components that are lighter weight like the TiMAG bail that is magnetic with a titanium bail wire. Each spinning reel features a 9 PT polymer hybrid stainless steel bearing that provides ultra smooth cranking. It incorporates an improved LMS system of line management that provides much more precision for line take up with much less twist or damage to the fishing line. The Long Stroke aluminium spool has been designed for precise distance line casting.

More power is added to the line retrieve with a machined crank handle made of aluminium. Also used in the reel is MAGLOK Continuous Anti Reverse which is an exclusive magnetic roller clutch that is the only one like it in the industry. There is a magnetic ring which is strong and this ring replaces the traditional springs that are usually used to enable quicker engagement and corrosion resistance that is much better. This integral design is combined with the largest rollers available and can withstand up to 2 times more load without deflecting. This helps provide much better performance in cold weather when compared to other standard roller bearings.
The 8 PT hybrid ball bearings are the highest performing of all bearings that are in the industry. The stainless steel used for these bearings are nitrogen injected and are combined with some special polymers which help reduce friction as well as noise.
